What Is Intermittent Fasting 16 8

Today I want to do something a little different. As I have explained before on my site I am not a Paleoterrorist and I believe that while Paleo works for me, other things entirely may work for others. Indeed, some things may be complementary and perhaps in this post we may have found one such thing

Just so that you understand that I am a man of my word, with an open mind, I Jasmine Jameswould like to introduce a Guest Blogger friend of mine, Jasmine James, who is an Amazon published author.

Jasmine has written a book on Intermittent Fasting 16 8, which you can purchase today should you wish, by clicking on one of the links in this paragraph or the last.

In the meantime I have asked Jasmine if she could explain what is Intermittent Fasting 16 8?

I hope that it will be of value to many of you so over to Jasmine, enjoy……..

Whether you’re already familiar with the term or this is something completely new to you, in this article you will find everything you need to know in order to get started with intermittent fasting 16 8.

Yo-yo weightObesity has increased across the globe, and people are looking for different ways to reduce their weight. It is because of this that the idea of dieting has become popular. People have identified that reducing their caloric intake helps them reduce their weight. What they do not understand is that diets like these only weaken their bodies. If you do give up on a diet, you will probably gain more than the amount you lost. So, what is the point of following such diets? Intermittent fasting 16 8 is something more than a diet – it’s a lifestyle.

What is Intermittent Fasting ?

The intermittent fasting eating pattern alternates between periods of eating and fasting. This pattern does not tell you what food you should eat but focuses only on when you eat. There are different variations to this pattern, and we cover these in the next section. If you think about it, your body is in the fasting state when you are asleep. When you skip breakfast the following day, because of lack of time or because you had an early morning meeting, you are following the intermittent fasting eating pattern. It is that simple.Fasting

Although intermittent fasting is an ancient practice, it gained popularity only in the last decade. Research shows that this diet not only helps with weight loss but also helps to improve immunity and boost metabolism.

The idea of fasting is not new for human beings. Our bodies can take care of us when we fast, too. Our predecessors could only consume food occasionally. They did survive on fruit, water or nothing on other days. Fasting is not an unusual or unnatural process. The human body can sustain food for long periods. It will learn to adapt to this change.

Variations of Intermittent Fasting 16 8

Intermittent fasting has many variations and you should choose the plan that fits you best. Something that they all have in common is that you can drink water, coffee, green tea and other calorie-free beverages during the fasting period. It is important to avoid eating junk food. Only eat healthy meals during the eating period.

It is important to understand that there are many variations of intermittent fasting and that is what makes it so amazing. You can always find a variation that suits your lifestyle. In this article I will cover the 3 basic variations and they are:

16/8 Method

168In this variation, you need to fast for 16 hours. The eating window is only eight hours. You can consume three meals during this eating period. It is for this reason this is the simplest variation to follow. You can either skip dinner or breakfast, depending on your schedule. For example, if you consume your last meal at 6 p.m. the previous day, you can eat your first meal today at 10 a.m. This will shift your body into the fasting state for 16 hours.

The 5:2 Pattern

52Following the 5:3 pattern means that you must fast on any two days during the week. If you cannot fast, you should limit your caloric intake on the fast days to 200 calories. You can eat small meals, but ensure you do not snack too often.

Alternate Day Fasting

ADFWhen you follow this pattern, you will only fast on alternate days. There are some variations to this pattern. One variation allows you to consume 500 calories’ worth of whole foods on alternate days, while you follow a strict fast on the other days. On the days you are fasting, you can only drink water. The benefits of this pattern are the same as every other pattern. The only disadvantage with this pattern is that the strict fast can overwhelm you.

16 8 Method Recommended For Beginners

The 16/8 method is the one that is recommended for beginners. It is the easiest to start with. After you have got used to it, you can decide to try the other variations as well and decide which one suits you best

Intermittent fasting is a natural way for your body to lose excess fat. It is something that our predecessors have done occasionally without even knowing. There are Bookmany variations and depending on your lifestyle you can choose the one that suits you the best.

The truth is that there is so much more involved in Intermittent Fasting than I can cover in this post. If you are a beginner I wouldn’t recommend that you try things out on your own. It is best to have some sort of guide. That is why I recommend this very inexpensive book.

The book is called ‘’Intermittent Fasting:The Complete Guide for Beginners’’ and it acts as a guide for those who want to follow the intermittent fasting pattern. Throughout the book, you will learn what it is all about and the variations you can follow. You will also learn the benefits of the pattern. It is difficult to ease into any new lifestyle or change. This book will leave you with some tips you can use to make this transition easy.
